Total EP UAE signs a memorandum of understanding with United Arab Emirates University

Total extended and renewed its university partnership with United Arab Emirates University on Sunday, April 3, 2016.

An agreement was signed by HE Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Vice Chancellor of UAE University, and Mr. Hatem NUSEIBEH, President Total EP United Arab Emirates & Group Representative in the United Arab Emirates. The partnership provides scholarships, internship opportunities within Total, as well as lecturers from Total Professeurs Associés giving lectures in oil & gas related topics.  

His Excellency Dr. Ali Al-Naimi confirmed that the signing of this memorandums of understanding (MOU) comes within the strategic vision of the UAE University in achieving leadership and excellence at all levels and in various fields, through the exchange of knowledge, expertise and institutional experiences with strategic partners of the university, noting that the university strives to achieve the expectations and aspirations of the wise leadership and community service in accordance with the best international standards.

He added that this cooperation comes to enhance the role of the mother National University in the development of scientific research programs in the areas of energy, and the application of advanced research methods to develop joint projects, through the activation of the strategic partnership to improve the educational level of performance and quality assurance in higher education.

Mr. Nuseibeh confirmed that this agreement sets a framework for an international partnership to create new opportunities to enhance the educational experience of students. He added: “We are proud to be associated with UAE University and look forward to being part of this collaboration that promotes knowledge exchange and community enrichment serving as an intellectual catalyst for the future generation of the active workforce.”

With this  MOU, Total through Total Professor Associés (TPA) will conduct short courses in the following educational branches of Oil&Gas:

Exploration & Production: Geosciences, Drilling, Reservoir, Offshore, Project Management, Contract Law and Taxation. 

Refining & Marketing: Petroleum Product Refining, Strategic Marketing, Pricing Policies.

Chemicals & Petrochemicals: Processes, Catalysis, Polymers, Research and Development, Carbon Capture and Storage.

Support activities: Sustainable Development, Geopolitics, Innovation.
