Total Road Safety Awareness session for children in Abu Dhabi

Total has launched Road Safety Awareness classes for school children in Abu Dhabi at the H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed (HBZ) School. The interactive session attended by 20 students between the ages of 7-8 years old was led by Joumana AbdulKarim from Total E&P UAE, Human Resources and Capabilities department.

Total Safety Traffic Education Program (STEP), a comprehensive road safety curriculum is available in English and Arabic and has been approved by the Abu Dhabi Education Council. The curriculum will serve as a learning platform for both students and teachers at Public schools in Abu Dhabi and Al-Gharbia.

HBZ School traffic park is the first fully integrated permanent facility available in a public school in the Emirates. The parks which offer students a permanent safe environment to navigate the streets according to traffic laws, are equipped with electrical cars, zebra crossings, speed breakers, roundabouts, signals, a mock Total petrol station, a police station, etc. The park will also serve as a center for other public schools to bring their students to the facilities and it is expected that about 600 students will be educated annually at the school.
