Total ABK's Emission Reduction Strategy: Flaring Roadmap Contribution

Flaring is a key contributor to overall emissions and has been a long-standing issue for Total ABK.

Total ABK’s commitment

TOTAL ABK is committed to reducing its atmospheric emissions and has undertaken key steps in that regard for the past years, making positive strides.

Electric Flare Recovery Compressor

With the installation of an electric Flare Recovery Compressor (FRC) in 2008, low-pressure flaring has been significantly reduced, from an average of 7 to 8 million standard cubic feet per day to about 1 million. In 2009, a roadmap was prepared outlining short-, medium- and long-term plans to further reduce flaring.
