Total EP UAE signs a memorandum of understanding with Zayed University

Total has extended a new partnership venture for the first time with Zayed University on Monday, April 11, 2016, as part of its commitment to promote human capital development and build a knowledge sharing culture.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Hatem Nuseibeh – President Total EP United Arab Emirates & Group Representative in the United Arab Emirates and Professor Reyadh Al Mehaideb –Vice President of Zayed University, in the presence of a number of senior officials from both sides.

The MoU came in efforts to provide scholarships, seminars and summer internship opportunities for Zayed University students at Total, as well as lectures delivered by Total Professeurs Associés (TPA) professors and experts, who will offer technical and business-related presentations in the oil and gas industry.

Total Professeurs Associés (TPA), which was established in July 2001, aims to build bridges between the oil industry and academic circles by delegating professors and experts.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Hatem Nuseibeh, said: “This new partnership is a natural extension of our collaboration with the universities in the United Arab Emirates. We are looking forward to continuing our mission as contributors to enhance education of youth in the UAE and we are very excited to work with Zayed University.”

Mr. Nusiebeh added: “Total is a leader when it comes to the field of education, training and transfer of knowledge. We have set examples for national students through our sponsored scholarships and even sent them abroad to enhance their learning experience in international universities. We have also provided several internship opportunities to students in the company who have expressed their interest in learning from the international expertise of Total.”

He also added: “TPA in its goal for building a bridge between the oil industry and major universities worldwide is honored to deliver technical/business related knowledge transfer to ZU students.”

Professor Reyadh AlMehaideb, stated that: “We are very pleased to collaborate and partner with one of the largest global oil and gas companies in the world. This partnership will allow both parties to benefit mutually from each other’s areas of expertise in terms of providing lectures, seminars, internships, job opportunities, and special events.”

“This MoU will further strengthen the skills of our students at Zayed University. The various training programs, internships and seminars. Lectures delivered by Total experts and academics will help promote a culture of innovation among young talented nationals as well as providing hands-on experiences on how the industry operates in real settings,” Professor AlMehaideb added.
