Total renews partnership with Emirates Foundation

Total, the international energy group, has today extended its partnership with the Emirates Foundation by committing to contribute to the Foundation over the next five years, from 2015 to 2019.

The new commitment was confirmed at a ceremony today on the Total stand at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC) at ADNEC, when Total CEO, Patrick Pouyanne, signed a new contract with H.E. Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Managing Director of the Emirates Foundation.

Total and the Emirates Foundation have been in partnership since 2006.

The partnership is aimed at creating positive social impacts through social inclusion, community engagement, leadership and youth empowerment activities. Through its continued support to the Foundation, Total has become an important ‘Connect Partner’ - which recognizes its collaborative efforts within the partnership.

Total has been particularly active in the Foundation’s ‘Think Science’ initiatives, aimed at encouraging young people to take an interest in science. This not only supports the UAE’s objective of moving towards a knowledge-based economy, but also aligns with Total’s own aim of developing an appropriately educated and qualified Emirati workforce to support its operations.   

Speaking about the signing of a new five year agreement, Patrick Pouyanne, Total CEO, said: “We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to extend this very important and fruitful partnership with the Emirates Foundation, which shares so many of the goals Total has set itself in the UAE.
